Lokacija: Dragonja valley, Slovenian Istria
Project: preliminary design, 2012
The owner wanted to take advantage of the tourist potential of unspoiled nature of outskirts in Slovenian Istria. The project anticipates an upgrade of the existing tourist farm with accommodation facilities, wine cellar and the sinked multipurposed place for congresses and other events. When creating a volume we had to follow the partly existing supporting walls, which already indicated the houses ground plan and shape. By complying with a terrace terrain configuration, the building is softly blending in with the surroundings. The facade with its autochton stony covering is trying to look like a typical terrace supporting wall of the Istrian countryside.
