Parking Lot Koper
Customer: Municipality of Koper
Location: Koper, Slovenia
Project: Conceptual design, traffic studies and simulation of traffic behavior, 2015
The investor wanted to verify the possibility of using space for a parking lot. The area is 14.000m2 big at the Koper trade zone in the southern part of the Istrian road and under the viaduct of Ljubljanska street. In the eastern part, it is bounded by a stream Badaševica, in the north with a highway - Istria Road and to the west with the junction of the Istrian road to the Ljubljana road.
The concept of a parking lot is provided in three solutions. The first solution takes into account the shortest accessible route exit/enter. The other two solutions are designed in a way that accessible route exit/enter can avoid the parcels in state ownership. All parking spaces are designed along the lines of 90 ° one-way parking lot. The parking lot contains 290 parking spaces for cars and 38 parking spaces for motorhomes.
Traffic arrangements of the parking lot are in large part designed as a one-way route, where is every turn radius designed according to EU standards and regulations so that the access routes are designed for modern cars. We also perform a swept path analysis of all vehicles with special software.
