Koper central market place needed a thorough modern renovation. During the week it is poorly attended by both sellers and buyers, the situation is different on Saturday due to city tradition and socializing habits, when the market is full (Source: Pongrad 2013). Civilum group proposed a green pergola cover construction as a modern renovation approach. The concept is very similar to Koper’s Škocjan cemetery pergola construction as natural organic shape, covered with indigenous vegetation. With this approach the urban built area comes alive and gives a friendly touch to the ambience as a sustainable, green enclosure and at the same time it offers good intimacy against sealing town. In this way the market gain commercial attractiveness, and summer special tourist attraction.
